📍 5 verified spots 🚄 Some spots doable as a day trip 🏅 88-Selection No.55 (2022–2025)

The core stage of Yuru Camp△ is Yamanashi Prefecture — the girls’ “Motosu High School,” their winter camping and Mt. Fuji vistas draw heavily on the stretch from Yamanashi City to Minobu. Notably, Yamanashi Prefecture’s tourism authority runs a standing “model location map” official site for the series, organized by geographic Areas 1–4 and broken down episode by episode (the Episode 8 page cited here is one). It’s the most systematic official source in this batch for scene-level attribution, well beyond typical fan sites. Local Minobu businesses (like the Eishodo manju shop) are folded directly into the official narrative, a sign of active local buy-in rather than mere tolerance. This page centers on the well-documented Yamanashi area, strung into a Minobu-anchored pilgrimage.

旧下部小中学校跡地3 身延町

Per the official Yamanashi Prefecture page for Episode 8: this is a site the Outdoor Activities Club passes on their commute to “Motosu High School” in the story. As part of the fictional school route, it pairs well with the Minobu Station area.

JR 身延線 甲斐常葉站徒步約 10 分(約 600m,依官方頁)
身延駅3 身延町

Per the official Episode 8 page: the three club members disembark here to visit an outdoor-gear shop, and the page highlights the station’s “retro town” look as featured in the episode. It’s the hub for the Minobu-area spots.

JR 身延線 身延站
身延駅前 門前町通り3 身延町

Per the official Episode 8 page: a ~600m shopping street of traditional earthen-wall, dark-tile-roof architecture that the characters walk along; the page candidly notes the anime’s fictional outdoor shop “Caribou” has no real Minobu counterpart. This is for the streetscape and town atmosphere.

身延站旁,門前町通り沿線
栄昇堂(身延まんじゅう)3 身延町

Per the official Episode 8 page: this is the local manju shop the characters are shown buying from, and the page states the manju sells for ¥65 apiece. It turns the pilgrimage into an “eat what the characters ate” stop.

Per the official prefecture-wide model-location map: an observation platform overlooking Lake Mizugaki and the surrounding mountains near Shiokawa Dam, listed as Model Location #6. It’s in Area 1, separate from Minobu — a good extension for a self-drive add-on.

Getting there and routing the pilgrimage

To Minobu (the Yamanashi core): from Tokyo, take the JR Chuo Line limited express (Shinjuku→Kofu, ~100 min) + JR Minobu Line limited express “Fujikawa” (Kofu→Minobu, ~60 min), about 3 hours total; an alternative via the Tokaido side (Tokaido Shinkansen to Shin-Fuji/Fuji + Minobu Line “Fujikawa”) runs a similar ~3 hours. Times per the official Minobu Town transportation page (which itself states Shinjuku→Kofu ~1h40 and Kofu→Minobu ~1h, slightly different from generic timetables — used as-is).

Stringing it into one trip: the series spans six municipalities. The Yamanashi side (Kofu–Minobu–Hokuto) has the fullest official documentation and is the most solid backbone — anchor on Minobu, walk the Monzen-machi street, Eishodo and the old Shimobe school site, then, with a car, head north to Hokuto for the Lake Mizugaki platform (Area 1, not rail-accessible). The Shizuoka side (Hamamatsu, Kawanehon/Oigawa) and Nagoya belong to a separate Season 2 / movie leg, are not contiguous with Yamanashi, and were not individually verified this round — plan them as a distinct Oigawa Railway-centered trip rather than forcing them into the Yamanashi day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1:Which prefecture holds the main Yuru Camp△ locations?
The core is Yamanashi Prefecture, especially from Yamanashi City to Minobu. The prefecture’s tourism authority runs an official model-location map for the series — the fullest scene reference. Shizuoka (Hamamatsu, Oigawa) and Nagoya form a separate leg.
Q2:Can I do the pilgrimage without a car?
The main Minobu spots (Minobu Station, the Monzen-machi street, Eishodo, the old Shimobe school site) are all along the JR Minobu Line and reachable by train; but the Lake Mizugaki platform in Hokuto is in the non-rail Area 1, so a car is recommended for that.
Q3:Is Minobu doable as a day trip from Tokyo?
Minobu is about 3 hours one way (Shinjuku via Kofu to the Minobu Line), so a round trip is roughly 6 hours of travel — tight for a single day. To do the Yamanashi side properly, an overnight around Kofu or Minobu is more comfortable.
