Follow Bro-neko through Vietnam, with room for little discoveries.
Two days in Ho Chi Minh City can be more than a checklist. Alternate history, a short city walk and a café so there is time to absorb each place. This route groups areas sensibly rather than treating nearby map pins as one seamless corridor. Short transfers and indoor pauses help when heat, rain or busy traffic change the pace.

Day one morning: leave room for the palace
At Independence Palace, make time for architecture and modern history rather than only an exterior photograph. The official site distinguishes ticket types and exhibition inclusions. Its 2026 visiting notice lists 7:00–18:00, but ticket sales at the Nguyen Du entrance end earlier; late arrivals should not simply choose the nearest gate. Special notices take priority, and professional photography arrangements are separate from ordinary admission.
Afternoon: a short Central Post Office-area walk
Use the Central Post Office area for the next short walk, then choose a café by its actual service, seating and menu. The post office remains a working place: keep counters and staff areas clear. Nearby religious buildings may have works, services or access restrictions; a reference photo does not guarantee entry today. Photograph from permitted public space and avoid standing in the road for a symmetrical angle.
Preview photo ↗Evening: finish around Nguyen Hue
After a rest, use the Nguyen Hue area and permitted public walking spaces as an evening finish. There is no need to collect every apartment café; check access, stairs or lifts and the current service arrangement. This guide does not promise a nightly fountain or street show. Follow event barriers and temporary traffic arrangements, then choose dinner in the direction of your stay to avoid a cross-city detour.
Day two: give one museum your attention
The War Remnants Museum merits time to read and reflect. Some displays can be distressing, so consider suitability when travelling with children. Its terms effective 1 October 2026 list 7:30–17:30, with final admission at 17:00. A website survey about evening service is not confirmation of regular night opening. Follow gallery photography rules and keep the rest of the day lighter rather than forcing in another major museum.
