Walk from Xinbeitou into the hot-spring district. Thermal Valley is for viewing; choose a separate bath for soaking.

What makes this stop worth a look?

Steam above the water is the reason to linger at Thermal Valley. Viewing the valley and taking a bath are separate activities: the valley is not a soaking pool, and cooking eggs here is prohibited.

A route for your travel notebook.

Editorial visit sequence, not a map to scale. Adjust for access and your actual transport.

  1. Xinbeitou station
  2. Hot-spring district walk
  3. Thermal Valley viewpoint

Begin at Xinbeitou, walk through the district to the valley and leave lunch or a booked bath as a separate stop. A walk and a rest are enough when your companions do not want to soak.

Connect it from your own starting point.

Use Xinbeitou MRT as the starting point and follow the official map on foot. The official valley listing closes Mondays and notes holiday exceptions; an accessible neighbourhood does not mean every attraction is open.

A note from Bro-neko

Check the closing days of your chosen venues together. Shorten the outdoor stop in rain and confirm the bath operator’s booking and facility rules separately.
